Painted “En Plein Air”,(Translated in the open air), at Goldsmith’s Beach on Eastern Long Island. I wanted to capture the light and mood of the spectacular sunny summer day. As I was painting the scene a little sailboat magically appeared and was the perfect accent for the composition.

I am very sentimental about this image as it was the first original watercolor painting I sold at Coast in Southold.
